Training Preparation

In preparation for ShipConstructor training please follow the 3 steps below:

Step 1: Install ShipConstructor

Prior to training you will need to install ShipConstructor.

 

1. Install ShipConstructor Server

Nominate one machine to be the server.

Run the ShipConstructor server installation and install both the;

SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and the

ShipConstructor Server

 

2. Install ShipConstructor on Client machines

Proir to running the Installation of Shipconstuctor client on all of the clients machines you will also need to also install

AutoCAD 2008

Navisworks 2009

(If you do not own enough licences for the number of clients then Formsys can provide you with a download of the 30day Trial version of the software)

Now install ShipConstructor client on the clients machines.

1. ShipConstructor Overview

This video provides a quick overview of ShipConstructor and its key features

 

2.DDROM

This video introduces Database-Driven Relational Object Modeling technology, which gives ShipConstructor its power and flexiblity. All construction lines, stock catalogues and parts are held within a relational database.

3. Plate Parts and modelling

Plate Parts Video1 discusses several key modeling concepts while showing you how to create a number of plate parts. Plate Parts Video2 shows you how to add corner treatments and lightening holes to plate parts.

 

4. Stiffener modelling

Stiffener Video 1 shows how to create stiffeners and introduces some time-saving modeling techniques. Stiffener Video 2 demonstrates creation of detailed end cuts for stiffeners.

 

5. Piping module

This video introduces the ShipConstructor piping module which is connected to the same relational database as the structural parts and provides extremely clear pipe spools and arrangement drawings.
